Synopsis

“FOR FREEDOM” imagines the last moments in the life of Iranian poet and journalist Mohammad Farrokhi Yazdi. In the 1930s, he published the newspaper “Toufan” (Storm) and gained fame for both his poetry about freedom and his constant attacks against the government. He was arrested and eventually executed at Tehran’s Qasr prison by Dr Ahmadi. (While employed at the prison, Ahmad Ahmadi was ordered to kill numerous political prisoners, typically by air injection. Ahmadi was eventually tried and executed in 1944.)
