Upstate New York-based Festival Cinema Invisible (FCI) continues its monthly series, “Pathways to Iran” exploring Persian Culture through film and dialog with a film screening, live musical performance and a panel discussion with one of the documentary subjects at Proctor’s GE Theatre on Sunday, November 22nd at 4pm.

    Silenced Sounds – Music and Censorship in Iran

    The night will begin with a performance of international music from capital region group, KoriSoron. The evening will also provide a rare screening of two short documentaries by director Mojtaba Mirtahmasb that share common themes of music and censorship in Iran.

    Following the screening, Farzad Golpayegani, who is featured in this documentary, will be present at the theater as part of a panel to discuss his experience other panelists will include Skype sessions with Mojtaba Mirtahmasb (the director of both films) and Mark Levine the author of the acclaimed book, Heavy Metal Islam.

    Persian style tea and sweets are also included in the $10 admission. Tickets are available at the Proctor’s Box Office or online until the close of the event.
