As part of its monthly Movie Nights, FCI/Siena presents The Salesman, directed by the internationally acclaimed Iranian filmmaker, Asghar Farhadi. Following his first Oscar for A Separation in 2016, Mr. Farhadi received a second Oscar for The Salesman in 2017, making him one of the few filmmakers who received the Oscar two years in a row. In addition to the Oscar, The Salesman was awarded Best Screenplay and Best Actor at the 2016 Cannes Film Festival, was nominated for the Golden Globe’s Best Motion Picture-Foreign Language, as well as numerous other international nomination and awards. This movie is about a married couple whose life is shattered by mysterious events while they are busy performing Arthur Miller’s play Death of a Salesman on stage in Tehran Iran.
