Ayat Najafi

Born in Tehran in 1976, studied scenography in Tehran. He established a youth theatre company in college in 1995 while studying with masters of Iranian theatre. In 2003, he started the Arta Atelier, focusing on an interdisciplinary, multimedia approach to theater as well as experimental short and documentary film. In 2005 he participated at Berlinale Talent Campus with his short film, Move It. His theatre other theatre work, Stories of Women with Mustaches and Men in Skirts, Lady Tehran and Rasht- City of Women were performed in Berlin. His film Football Under Cover won Teddy Award (Berlinale 2008), the Audience Award (Berlin International Festival, 2008) and Prix Europa Iris (Berlin 2009).
